A friend of mine posted about my situation with Cash Uncovered on a webmaster message board that I don’t usually frequent. I didn’t ask him to make the post, he made it because he thought that it would expedite the process of getting the missing check situation resolved. Apparently, Steve overestimated the maturity levels of the guys at CU, and the thread turned into some wannabe drama-bomb clusterfuck.
I’ll just summarize the retarded ass shit that the CU guys pulled in that thread (and here, even, one of them decicded to showcase his absolutely ASTOUNDING reading comprehension by leaving a comment here that I’d already said was irrelevant to the missing checks). Now, I’ll be honest - I haven’t bothered to check the thread again after my last post in it over a day ago, because the responses they’ve given already made it pretty clear that they’re more interested in trolling/internet tough guy-ing than actually reading & processing what I responded with, so there’s no point in even putting forth effort towards that forum.
One of the CU guys decided that the best response to the situation - which, once again, was in a thread I hadn’t even made or participated in thus far, so this was essentially behind my back until I was told about the thread - was to essentially mock me and make up/assume a reason why the whole situation was “my fault”. You know, because even though a quick search of the Netpond forums resulted in at least five other “where’s my money, CU” threads, it’s somehow absolutely impossible that CU could have made an error.
It’s also apparently somehow impossible for CU to handle the matter in a professional/businesslike fashion. The guy went on to say that since I changed my address after two of those checks had been sent, it was obvious that I had originally put the wrong address in as my info. Actually, it wasn’t. I changed my information when I moved. How the fuck does that make the previous address incorrect? It was the correct address where I received checks UNTIL I CHANGED IT TO REFLECT THE NEW ADDRESS. I lived in the same building, but moved to a new unit when a new landlord bought the building and wanted to refurbish the place. The best part is, even AFTER I thoroughly explained this, the CU guys are still trolling HERE with comments saying that me “putting in the wrong address” was the problem. I mean, I knew we had a problem with adult literacy in this world, but damn, guys.
This imaginary “wrong address” issue hasn’t given any other company the problems it somehow gave CU. When I lived at my old place, I got all my mail. When I moved and changed my address, I got all my mail. Well, from every affiliate program except CU. I think that says something, come on. But of course, the two amazingly cool and professional representatives of CU posting in that thread don’t have the brain capacity to use logic that advanced, or something, so they just continued with the “lol ur dumb” type of responses.
Obviously this says something abvout how much the two guys responding give a shit about their affiliates, if they’re willing to smack talk them based on assumptions. I mean, really, is wanting to get paid seriously such a big crime?
I do have to give one of the CU guys credit, though. Phil, the guy I’ve been corresponding with, actually shot me an e-mail apologizing for the bullshit drama in the thread. While I appreciate that, it sucks that he had to even do it since it personally wasn’t his doing. He wasn’t the one running his mouth trying to look cool on the internet, he was actually doing his job and trying to figure out what the fuck happened with the checks. The funny thing is, that he never said anything about the address changes when we were talking - we were more focusing on making sure the checks had actually been sent, and if they had, if someone else had cashed them. I never got in that thread and said that CU didn’t send the checks (which, in one of the guy’s responses he tried to say I had… putting words in people’s mouth doesn’t work so much on forums, where you can just scroll up to check what the person actually said, genius); I’d say that me wanting to make sure that the checks weren’t cashed by someone else kind of makes it obvious that I’m giving CU the benefit of the doubt and am taking their word that the checks really are out there somewhere.
But yeah, shit like this is exactly why I usually refrain from taking my personal business to message boards. Not every affiliate program is like this, obviously, but it seems like so many programs in adult seem to forget that they’re actually running and representing a business. When you publicly shit all over an affiliate for something as innocent as wanting to get paid, it makes you look like a damn fool. I know that I personally do pay attention to the threads where affiliate programs are making asses of themselves and insulting the smaller guys, and many times those threads have left me deciding to never promote the program involved. So what happens when a bigger webmaster or company sees that kind of thing while deciding whether or not to push you? Do you really think that badmouthing the small guys makes you look like a good company to work with?
But that’s another word vomit session for another day - the lack of critical/long-term thinking that some of the people in online adult have really astounds me sometimes. Hell, the lack of marketing knowledge and logic in past mainstream, non-online managers/companies I’ve had has blown me away, too.
Anyhow, that’s enough energy wasted on this shit for today. CHECK YO THIGHS IN A MIRRA, AND I’M DONE! Er… yeah.

Boys will be boys.
Thanks for the plug on that Psychic Search plugin… I’m installing it now.
I actually really dig your site Lux Alterna. Are you sponsored by Suicide Girls and sites like that, or how does that work?
Sorry I’m always bugging you to see how all of your work works. :/
